The design philosophy of EJ House is centered around the concept of elevating the living experience through thoughtful design. This approach is characterized by a commitment to understated luxury, blending refined aesthetics with a focus on sustainable living.

Developing the design, the emphasis was placed on simplicity in the functional layout and organization of volumes. Privacy from the street was prioritized by installing a taller perimeter wall, behind the 3 meters limit, while offering an inviting landscaped entrance. Within the house, large openings were strategically incorporated to provide expansive views onto various garden areas, fostering a connection with nature.

The choice of materials played an important part in shaping the ambiance of EJ House. Sparse yet noble materials, such as travertine stone, wood, and steel, were selected to create a harmonious and calming palette. Neutral sandy tones were employed to direct attention towards the vibrant greenery of the outdoors, seamlessly integrating the exterior environment with the interior spaces.

To further enhance the luxurious living experience, a landscaped green roof was integrated into the design, not only contributing to the aesthetic appeal but also bringing natural greenery into various aspects of the living space.

The commitment to ultra-high performance, health, and thermal comfort is realised by the integration of Passive House design principles. This includes the use of thermally-broken triple-glazed windows, an exceptionally robust external insulation system, meticulous attention to achieving air-tightness, and the installation of an air-filtering energy recovery ventilation (ERV) system. These features collectively contribute to superior indoor air quality, ensuring a healthy and comfortable environment within the residence.
